We will be using a checkbox on a new donation form so the viewer can select an area of need. Is there a way to grab a value from a link to have that box checked?

For example if a person is on a page with a Call to Action to donate in a certain area and the button has a link to something like /donate-page?area=need3 Can I grab that Get variable and use it to check the box for “Need 3” on the donation form?

I know how to do it in PHP, but is there a way to do it here?

    Thanks!

We wrote a tutorial on this a while back. Please review here and let us know if you have additional questions:

Keep in mind that this is a custom solution and falls outside the scope of our Support. We provide it to you as an example of how you can extend and customize Give with code, but once you put it on your site, it is fully your responsibility. That said, we encourage you to experiment with snippets like this (in a safe environment) as much as you can, and we’re always happy to provide tips and resources to help.

    Thanks!

Thank you for the link to the tutorial. Thant helps and I do understand it, but am still not sure how to implement for checkboxes. I’ll work on it and let you know if I have any questions.
