Preconnect Cloudflare, Cloudinary, FontAwesome, Etc

Dear All

I use Cloudflare for rocket loader, Cloudinary for image CDN, and also FontAwesome that built in on my theme.

I want to preconnect all of them to speed up loading when visitors explore my website from one page to another page.

How do I implement it correctly? Would it effective to speed up my website?

might improve speed, yes 🙂

try adding https://res.cloudinary.com, https://ajax.cloudflare.com to the comma-separated preconnect input field on AO’s “extra” tab and see if it does?

Thanks for response. Here is the result after I added preconnect you suggested above.

By the way, I use security headers plugin too with the rules sameorigin. I don’t know if it can impact the result or not.

And here is the result on Pingdom Tools. The speed is good but score I got isn’t improved. Gzip score is C and CDN is E. I use cloud hosting with LightSpeed and PHP 7.2.

Can Autoptimize improve it?

well, at first sight all responses are compressed (using brotli which is better then gzip) and you are on cloudflare, so it looks like pingdom is being stupid really.

from AO’s perspective what you could do to further improve is try to use “inline & defer CSS” instead of “inline all CSS”, which will allow your page to render a bit faster using the inlined critical CSS while the full CSS won’t block rendering and is loaded later? there’s more info in the AO FAQ 🙂
