# Pre-Sales Question: Plugin migration.

 * I have a live site: [https://class.happyfeetdsp.com](https://class.happyfeetdsp.com)
 * I cloned the live site to staging site using my host service WPEngine, which
   comes with 1-click staging functionality. The staging site is: [https://classhappyfeet.wpengine.com](https://classhappyfeet.wpengine.com)
 * I started working on my staging site to install and configure a plugin called
   Tickera – a ticket booking plugin with seating chart functionality for events
   with assigned seating.
 * It took me more time than expected to do the Tickera plugin setup with seating
   chart creation. Before I was done, I recieved several new WooCommerce Orders
   for other products (classes) that I sell on my live site. Each order creates
   new Users in the process. I don’t want to lose those new Users and WooCommerce
   Orders of those new Users.
 * I want to move only the Tickera plugin and its configurations that I made on
   the staging site to the live site.
 * I don’t know how to solve this problem. How can I do this? I am sorry if this
   is a stupid question. I need a little instruction. I will buy your plugin if
   I need the Premium version to do this. I just need to know the correct order
   of all steps to take to accomplish this.

 * Hi [@dashmanskas](https://wordpress.org/support/users/dashmanskas/)
 * Unfortunately, this is not that trivial.
 * I’ve written a little technical background story about that whole situation
   with WooCommerce and staging websites when it comes to migrating data from the
   staging site to live without overwriting orders on the production website:
    [https://wp-staging.com/docs/skip-woocommerce-orders-and-products/](https://wp-staging.com/docs/skip-woocommerce-orders-and-products/)
 * The easiest and safest approach, in my opinion, is to set the production site
   into maintenance mode or make sure that no new orders are able to come in and
   then to export and import all new orders to your staging site. After that do
   a complete push and migrate the staging site to the production site.
 * All other ways are error-prone and can lead to a loose of orders or subscriptions.
 * For the future, we can only hope that WooCommerce is going to store all transactional
   data in its own custom tables than using the WordPress data tables _post and
   _postmeta which makes migration of WooCommerce websites very difficult.
 * If you have another question please let me know.
 * Cheers
    René

 * Hi Rene,
 * Thank you so much for responding with advice. I really appreciate it.
 * Believe it or not, I read that article you referred me to just before emailing
   you.
 * You recommended in your response to “set the production site into maintenance
   mode or make sure that no new orders are able to come in and then to export and
   import all new orders to your staging site. After that do a complete push and
   migrate the staging site to the production site.”
 * Questions:
 * Do you recommend using Order Export & Order Import for WooCommerce by WebToffee
   And will using this plugin also include the Users (username, password, profile
   info, etc.) associated with those Orders?
 * Thanks again for your time.
 * Sincerely,
    Darrell

 * Hello Darrell
 * > Believe it or not, I read that article you referred me to just before emailing
   you.
 * I truly believe you:-)
 * At the moment I do not have any real recommendation for an export/import plugin
   but I would be delighted if you like to share your experience with me and other
   users of wp staging.
 * When I remember correctly the WebToffee plugin was working well for exporting
   and importing orders from WooCommerce for me in the past but please do not nail
   me down on this.
 * If you use WooCommercer subscriptions make sure that these those are supported
   as well. This is not supported by every import export plugin.
 * Cheers

 * Hi René,
 * I understand. I’ll post a rating on WordPress now based on your excellent support
   and advice. I haven’t actually used your WP Staging plugin yet, but the pre-sales
   communication with you was great. Thanks again. Have a good weekend.
