RE: How do I import a .CSV? Trying to do this with the free plugin does not seem to show my fields.
To bulk import entries using a CSV file, you’ll need the CSV Import addon. Here’s the link.
RE: I’d like to be able to display them by State
If you navigate to the Connections Settings admin page, click the Advanced tab and scroll to the Permalinks section, you can enable the Region option. After that option is enabled the State in all addresses will become links that when clicked will filter the directory based on the region which was clicked.
You can copy paste these links to a page, add them to you sidebar using a menu widget or to the primary nav to give you users an quick and easy way to quickly filter the list by state.
RE: search the entire directory for names, business names, etc.
All of the premium templates support keyword search and filtering by category. Here’s the link:
I recommend the cMap template for most users. Here’s the link:
I hope this helps, let me know.
Yes, very helpful. Thanks!
Hello,
I followed your instructions and enabled regions under Connections:Settings:Advanced.
Initially, it was working. But for some reason it no longer works. Clicking on a state brings up a url: https://xxxx.com/members/membership/region/PA/
On this page, all states are listed, not just those in PA.
Also, the page load is running extremely slowly. Not sure why.
Thanks!

Sorry, really hard to say. The example link provided looks correct.
As for the page loading speed, if you are displaying many entries on a single page, that would do it. This is not a bug or limitation in Connections, the same would happen if you were to list a similar number of WordPress posts on a single page. If you are displaying many entries I recommend a template which supports pagination like cMap, which was recommended in my last reply.
I hope this helps as I can only make guesses not being able to see the page.
Thanks for responding so quickly, Steven.
Since this is a private site, I cannot share a functioning url. How may I provide you with login access? I really need to get this working.

Pease contact me using the contact link at the very bottom of this page.
Here’s a another site which uses Connections splitting its directory across several pages by country.
Just though I’d share since they are just using the free Connections as far as I can tell.
Ok. I will. But I don’t see a “contact” link on this page. Can you please clarify?
Thanks!

The link is there, at the very bottom right in all caps.
Sorry, I did not realize that “this page” was linked and did not mean this page.
I will submit the info there.
Thanks!
