    Hi there!

I’m not very familiar with how RSS feeds work. What we’re looking to do is have an events list post from a local chamber of commerce directly onto our website, so guests can see what is happening around the community without us having to create the information ourselves.

    Questions:

    1. Will this plugin allow us to do that, and will it update the information regularly automatically or does it require manual refresh?
    2. Does it have any load impact on the site?
    3. Does the information get stored on the site as posts, or does it embed from the feed? (I saw in the YouTube video that it looked like it sort of created posts on the site for the feed items.)

Sorry if these questions are stupid, I’m just really unfamiliar with RSS feeds and how they work. Thank you!

  • Hi @iskon47,

Thank you for your interest in our plugins.

We appreciate all your questions and we’ll try to answer them the best we can.

    So, to answer your questions:

    1. Yes, given that your source sites have a valid RSS Feed, you can then import it using WP RSS Aggregator to your site. You can set a schedule for when the import process will run, so you don’t have to manually refresh everything (although, of course, it’s still possible to do so).

    2. It’ll depend on how many feed sources you’ll be using and how many posts will be imported every update.

You can also read these following links for further information:

    https://docs.wprssaggregator.com/how-can-i-ensure-that-your-plugin-wont-slow-down-my-site/

    3. Using the core plugin only, the feed will be imported as a Feed Item Custom Post Type. This to hold basic information about feed items, such as their title and permalink.

However, if you’d like to import it and make your own posts, you’ll need our Feed to Post add-on to do that.

If you have further questions related to our premium add-ons, you can open a pre-sales ticket at https://www.wprssaggregator.com/contact/

Hope this can answer some of your questions here.
