I had installed WordPress in a sub-directory named as ‘wp’ and was accessing my website through ‘example.com/wp’. However, I wanted to have just ‘example.com’ in my site’s url keeping WordPress install in the same sub-directory (wp); so I followed the approach given in ‘Using a pre-existing subdirectory install’ section of ‘http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory#Using_a_pre-existing_subdirectory_install’.

After going through all the steps as mentioned, I am not able to access the home page of my website. It is throwing me error ‘… redirected you too many times’. Other pages are working fine with new url (without ‘wp’).

Wondering what could be the reason? Any help will be deeply appreciated.

    Never mind!

It started working by itself after some time – guess it takes some time to get the change reflected (though still don’t understand why other pages were working and only home page had this problem; anyways!!!)
