Did someone just add that link? Also my follow up post disappeared I think.
Anyway I looked at the link and I can’t see anything mentioning size limitations. I’d just like to know if TablePress will meet my needs for this (I do hope so)because I want to avoid setting it all up just for it to not work.
As mentioned I already use TablePress for other (small) tables on my site so if I can avoid having to install further plugins – all the better.
Thanks
Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
Several hundred or a few thousand rows should probably work fine. The worst problem that you might be facing is that the “Edit” screen might become very slow (as the browser would have to manage several thousand text input fields). You will also have to keep in mind that the entire table is sent to the visitor’s browser, so depending on how much information/text there is per row, this could take a couple extra moments.
I’d suggest here that you start out with TablePress. If at one point you feel that it’s not working, you could then start looking into other (most likely custom) solutions. As the table data can be exported in open formats (CSV, HTML, JSON), it should not be too difficult to migrate the data to a new solution.
About that added link (I assume that you mean the link to the TablePress plugin page): That’s added automatically by the forums software, as you have posted (correctly) in the TablePress support forums. I’m not sure about that follow-up post though…

Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
