  • I’m trying to install PPHLogger on my WP Mingus install. PPHLogger requires you to insert a few lines of JS or PHP or Both onto each page for it to start logging access to that particular page.
But now, if I’m trying to do this with WP, since it’s all dynamic, where can I put this code snippet? A template? If so, I’m not too familiar with WP yet, so I’m not sure which one to add it to.
I tried adding the code snippet to the index.php file… the main template and it seems to work for JUST the index file. When I click on particular entries or go to the comments, it’s not being recorded into the access counts.
Does anyone have any idea which other templates I need to add this code snippet to?

Put it in index – that file loads everything, and your stats will generate. I have delymyths stats plugin, it works very well, and it sits there.

I use PHPlogger. Where it goes depends on which version of WP you are using. If you are using an older version you can put it in the index.php file, somewhere within the “head” (between <head> and </head>). If you are using the latest builds of 1.3 these have been moved to a separate wp-header.php file. It is best to copy that (exluding the part that runs an “if” statement at the top) to a new file called “header.php”. The if statement in the first file will tell WP to use your custome header.php instead of the default one. Then you can add the phplogger JS right there.
