• I’ve been getting a lot of conversions which are tagged to be ‘direct’ traffic in GA to url’s like: /afrekenen/bestelling-voltooid/12567?key=wc_order_vaBV7soGK1iiO (order confirmation page).

It’s really screwing up my data as I have no idea which campaign this conversion belongs to. 99% of our traffic is PPC, so there’s no way these conversions are actually from direct traffic.

It almost seems as tho there’s a random new session established on the order confirmation page.

I kind really optimise my PPC campaigns if I don’t know which campaigns or ad groups the conversions belong to, any help would be massively appreciated.

    Hi,

This question is not directly related to GTM4WP as it seems to me some issue around your GA tag setup and perhaps the linking of your Google Ads and Google Analytics accounts. I assume you are an experienced advertiser thus those steps should be OK but a second review might help.

Could you provide a sample search term where your Google Search ad is appearing for sure?

Have you gone though your site using Google Tag Assistant recordings? This can show you where you session breaks:

My best guess is the perhaps a payment gateway resets somehow the session while the user is paying the order.
