  • It would be better if WP does have a Power-editing window similar to MovableType where users can aggresively change categories, time stamps, etc. all simultaneously.

    May I ask why ??
Importing – if this is where you want to do it – may always be a long business for some and given the number of people who may use such a function, it may be better as a plugin.
If it is for after an import, as part of general blog management, then surely all that should be set when the posting occurs ?

No, not for importing but for the EDIT section of WP to be *more* effective

prara: what is your criteria for “effective”? I would never use that feature, just like I don’t use 75% of the UI that is there now. So why would that be better than what we have now?

Apparently none of you has said “Oh, I’m going to create a category called “New Category”… Oh but wait, I have 75 posts that should probably go into there as well…. then had to have gone through and one by one change posts over to the new category. It sucks. I like being able to say “show only posts that are in such-and-such category and be able to pick 60 out of 80 of them to the new category and click “save”. 🙂
One time I split an “Entertainment” category into “Music” and “Movies” and it took me over an hour because I didn’t realise that MT had this “power user” window. 🙂

    That’s it: well-said.

Would really appreciate a power editing feature as well.

Astoch, that has been implemented since v1.2. Go to Options/Writing and select “Advanced controls”.
