Powerbuilder won’t work anymore when Yoast is active. It won’t load anything. As soon as I deactivate Yoast it starts working again.

    Hi @mantadivinglanzarote,

    Thank you for reaching out!

We are not familiar with Power Builder. We tried to find the plugin on WordPress.org, but it seems that it is distributed elsewhere? If so, we would encourage you to reach out to the plugin developers so they can investigate the issue.

    Hey,

Thanks for getting back to me. I’ll contact them and see if they can figure out whats wrong. It’s this plugin, it came with our theme. I’ve been running them together for 2 years with no problem.

    Hi @mantadivinglanzarote,

    Thank you for that information.

Looking at their Github repository, their latest release was in 2017? If so, I would definetely look into this and see if this is still under active development.

Do let us know if there is anything else. Thanks!

    Hi @mantadivinglanzarote, hi @jeroenrotty,

I encounter the same problem since Yoast was updated, and I need to deactivate Yoast to be able to edit anything with Power Builder which came with the theme I bought from TemplateMonster http://www.templatemonsterpreview.com/65554.html

So yes, if you get any information, I would really appreciate if you could let me know and post here.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi @momentumactingstudio,

Since we’re not able to test this, we recommend contacting the Power Builder developers or filing a bug report with them.

You can check your browser console for JavaScript errors or your PHP error logs to gather more information.

To make sure that this is the source of the problem, we also suggest checking for conflicts.

If the Power Builders find an error in Yoast SEO that we can fix, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers.

I have the same problem with Power Builder now. I used Health plugin to disable all plugins one by one and found that it is Yoast 14.9 that has caused the issue. When it is enabled and inspect the console output in with Firefox dev tools these errors appear:

    Uncaught TypeError: YoastSEO.app is undefined
    TM_PB_Yoast_Content /wp-content/plugins/power-builder/framework/admin/assets/js/app/app.js?ver=1.4.0:2596
    <anonymous> /wp-content/plugins/power-builder/framework/admin/assets/js/app/app.js?ver=1.4.0:2618
    jQuery 4

    Uncaught TypeError: window.tm_builder is undefined
    Underscore 2
    render /wp-content/plugins/power-builder/framework/admin/assets/js/app/views/tm-pagebuilder-module-settings-view.js?ver=1.4.0:50
    render /wp-content/plugins/power-builder/framework/admin/assets/js/app/views/tm-pagebuilder-modal-view.js?ver=1.4.0:128
    showSettings /wp-content/plugins/power-builder/framework/admin/assets/js/app/views/tm-pagebuilder-block-module-view.js?ver=1.4.0:145
    jQuery 2

*note: absolute URL domain has been removed from the post.

I’m unsure of how to fix it though. And, yes, Power Builder is older but as it is still used on millions of sites, we need a way to resolve this. Template Monster support says its a problem with Yoast and not their issue to resolve. Seeing that of the 45 plugins I have enabled on this WP/Woocommerce install, and only Yoast conflicts, I would have to agree with them on this for once….

Yoast we need some help here please! Thank you!

    Hi @erotic1

Upon checking,it looks like the last update of Power Builder was in February 2017 with v1.4.0 — https://github.com/templatemonster/power-builder-upd

Are they still providing support for the plugin? We do see that an issue has been opened here. We recommend you perform a conflict check with a default WordPress theme such as TwentyTwenty, Yoast SEO v14.9, and only the Power Builder plugin enabled and see if you are getting any JS errors and report that information in the issue.

    Hi @mikes41720, @erotic1, @priscillamc, @priscillamc and @jeroenrotty

    Just as a note:
Another page where the issue has been opened can be found here

Yes, given that power-builder comes in with Template Monster sites that are sold everyday, it might be worth that Yoast and Template Monster get in contact and start working together to resolve the issue.

We are afraid to say the link you have shared seems not correct. We understand the power builder comes with the Template Monster templates and it’s worth a fix. However, we see the development repository of the relevant plugin is inactive and the last commit was in 2017.

It might be because Template Monster might have a private repository where they are developing the relevant plugin privately. Therefore, we also highly recommend you bring the issue with the Template Monster as well to make sure that they are aware of it.

In addition, we’ll also welcome you to submit a proper bug report directly at the GitHub development repository so our development team can look into this further as well.
