  • Galaxy A40, Android 11, WordPress mobile app version: 21.8, WordPress 6.1.1.

    Hi. When you create a new article and start with changing the date, after entering the title, content and publishing, the date is not changed, it is set to now.

    Testing the following steps on my app, I’m able to do the following:

    1. Make a new post with content
    2. Edit the date to a previous time and date
    3. Tap back to edit content
    4. Tap publish. I can see the date I set in step 2 still shows for the post, and this remains when I publish the post

    Am I missing a step you do? Following the steps above my post stayed with the date I set in step 2. Let me know if you can what steps you’re taking specifically. If you can provide a screen recording that will be even better.

    One thing that could be causing trouble here, I noticed the site you link to is not loading in a browser for me. Your site must be working for the app to work well with it.

    I would like to add that if I skip the step of adding content and publish it, it’s good – the date doesn’t come back for now.



    Thank you for that video. I see what you mean and am able to repeat the behavior. For back-dated posts that you wish to show as published for a past date and time, when new content is added, the editor is resetting the time for the post to now. I’ve reported this issue to our team for investigation:
