Support » Fixing WordPress » Posts/Pages Pages Missing in Admin

  • I installed and tried to run the P2PConverter to convert posts to pages. It failed, and I have uninstalled the plugin, but I have a lingering problem: in the admin panel, the lists of pages and posts are missing. That is, if I click on posts->all, I get a “page not found” error. I have re-uploaded all of the WP 3.2.1 files, and they’re still missing. I tried to run upgrade.php again, even, and it just says my site doesn’t need upgrading. How can I restore those pages?

I tested the P2PConverter plugin in WordPress 3.2.1 and it worked without any problems. What version of WordPress are you using and what happened when the P2PConverter plugin failed? Did you see any specific error messages?

Yes, an “out of memory” error.

At this point, the plugin is gone, but I still can’t fix the site. I have gone so far as to delete every WordPress file except my wp-config, and re-upload, attempt to reinstall (but it won’t let me b/c it says it’s already installed), and I can’t get those pages back.

I’ve repaired every table in the database, with no effect.

It sounds like something happened during the time you ran the plugin and possibly only partially updated the data in the database. This is just a guess. It doesn’t sound like it’s an issue with the WordPress code itself and that’s why re-installing the WordPress files isn’t affecting anything.

One possible workaround might be to check with your web host to find out if they may be able to restore the database from backup to a point before the problem first started.

    Thanks! I will try that.

Fortunately, this did not happen on my primary blog, or I would be in a total state of panic!
