Posts with multiple categories will now only appear in search results if every category they are in is selected. This makes those posts difficult to find. You also cannot search a parent category without selecting all of its subcategories.

Ex: You cannot search for & find “recipes” without also selecting subcategories “desserts,” “entrees,” and “drinks.” You cannot search for & find “drinks” without also selecting “recipes” if the post has both categories.

    Hi,

I assume you are referring to the filter checkboxes.

This is intentional – as in most use-cases this is the expected behaviour. Unfortunately this is not possible to change in the Lite version.

I’m sorry to hear that. I tried rolling back to a version that behaves as I need it to, but it has other bugs I’d rather not fight with again.

Does the pro version allow you to switch that aspect of the search logic?

Yes, you can change that in the Pro version. I do not recommend rolling back versions, as some newer data may remain in the database and cause conflicts.

I will upgrade when I can, then. Thank you for your help.

    Happy holidays.
