posts-to-posts and The Events Calendar

Hi,
I am having a problem with my connections showing.
I am connecting “Events” (made with TEC) and a custom post type called “papers”.
When I add the code onto my single ‘paper’ post type page, it displays correctly The Event that it is from.
However, when I add the code to the Single Event Calendar page, it says there are no connections.
I am using the code from the “basic usage” page.
Are there any known conflicts or alternative ways to display the connections?
