Posts per page

I am only able to get the 4 most recent posts show up on my main page. I went into Settings -> Reading and checked to see the # of posts I can have per page and all of my posts should be showing (I said blog shows “at most” 30 posts…I’d like it to be “at least”). There is no button at the bottom of the blog that links to older/previous posts. While links to my posts still exist on the side menu under “Recent Entries,” I would like ALL the posts show up on the main page (there are only 6 of them!). What should I do?
