Posts page management

I have a static home page and a static post page.

The static home page has 6 ‘featured’ images in the slider which I periodically change, but typically they are set as my slider images.

The static post page unfortunately includes these ‘featured’ images as posts, but I’d prefer it not to.

How can I ‘manage’ the post page such that they are not included there and only appear on the home page? I foolishly thought that the featured, primary and secondary selection would do it…
