and it shows me that fb:appID is missing
i tried to see what is the problem via fb debbug and it show’s me these errors
Response Code 502
This indicates that when Facebook tries to access your site to gather the information it needs to generate a good post preview, your site is actually down, and returns a 502 error.
Your site might only be down for Facebook, but it’s most likely that the whole site is down, if only for a few seconds immediately after you hit the Publish button. This can sometimes happen when your site has limited resources. Indeed, when you publish a new post on your site, a lot of things happen at once:
- The server needs resources to actually publish the post.
- Plugins (like Jetpack’s Publicize module) may do extra things when the publish event happens, using some resources.
- Your site has to send out notifications to search engines about the new post.
- Lots of bots will land on your site within a few seconds. Search engines, RSS Readers, Social Networks if you use Publicize, … All those services access that new post at the same time, a couple of seconds after the post was published.
All these things are usually not a problem, but some sites sometimes can’t handle all that at once. It of course depends on your hosting plan, but also on the number of plugins that do things on publish, and the number of services that end up accessing your site.
To solve this issue, I’d recommend that you review your list of plugins, make sure you use all of them, and maybe start deactivating them, one at a time, just to see if one of them causes the issue.
I hope this clarifies things a bit.
it shows me that fb:appID is missing
That’s not an issue here, you can ignore that notice.
Thanks , and also it shows me a respond code 500
What that mean?
Thanks
I tried to deactivate all plugins one by one , but i still have the problem with share posts on fb ( still without picture) debugg codes are still 500 and 502
I’m not using publize tu share posts I’m doing that manually
I don’t know what to do anymore , I tried everything :(((
It’s worth noting that Facebook caches the response it gets when it first tries to access a post. That means that if your site was down the first Facebook’s bot tried to access it, the bot will save that response for later. Every time you try to share that post afterwards, Facebook’s bot won’t go and fetch information about that post; it will look into its cache, and use the information it saved last time (your site was down, there was a 500 or 502 error).
To force Facebook’s bot to visit a post again and get updated information, you can use the “Fetch New Scrape Information in Facebook Debugger:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object
That won’t allow you to understand what’s causing your issue, though. To test things, you’ll need to try publishing new posts, since the 500 errors only happen right after you publish new posts.
I did that but also same problem , and it shows me
See exactly what our scraper sees for your URL
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/loose.dtd”>
<html>
<head><meta http-equiv=”content-type” content=”text/html; charset=utf-8″></head>
<body><p>kErrorRead</p></body>
</html>
same problem here. kErrorRead. Page loads normally fine with browser and curl. I don’t know why facebook scraper is the only site that has this problem. I can’t post any links from my website because of this.

@kiki331 @zeki893 I would recommend that you contact Facebook’s developers about this; they might be able to understand what that kErrorRead
error means, and why Facebook’s bot gets that error.

Hi there,
In my case, yoast seo plugin was activated and have enabled Open Graph meta data under Yoast –> Social –> Facebook, it may duplicate the jetpack OG tags. Disable the yoast Open Graph meta data and publish a new post. Now it works properly.
thanks,
