For some reason, I can’t get my posts to show on the home page. In the theme options section, I’ve selected to have 10 posts show. But it’s not working. Is there a way to make more than 1 display on the HP. Thanks! Using Flying Colors theme. Also, in the index.php file, there nothing that allows me to enter the number of posts I want displayed. Help!
Have you tried:
-deactivating ALL plugins (yes, all) temporarily to narrow down the problem. If the problem goes away, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s). If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems (because the hooks remain unless plugins completely removed or some plugins stick around in cached files. So by renaming the folder, you break them and force them inactive).
– To rule out any theme-specific issue, try switching to the unedited default twenty twelve theme for a moment using the WP dashboard. If you don’t have access to your admin area, you can switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
OK. I tried your suggestions. It doesn’t seem to be a plugin problem. Deactivating them didn’t help. I also switched to the Twelve theme. Still, no go. Here’s my blog site: http://www.homemadegoodness.org
I have access to the admin area as far as the editor. However, I’m not sure what “code” I need to adjust or add to correct this. Would someone take a quick look and give me some advice? I’m a relative newbie when it comes to CSS/HTML>
I can see the post titled “Another Test Post”
Yes, that post is showing. However, I’ve created 2 test posts. They should both be showing . . . or at least I want them both to show on the home pages. When I switch to any other theme, both posts will display on the home page. The issue probably has something to do with my current theme. Any ideas?

This means your theme is boken somewhere.
P.S.: In your previous post you said “I also switched to the Twelve theme. Still, no go.”!!!!
I’m sorry. What I mean is, when I switched to the Twelve theme, all of the posts displayed – unlike my current theme. Sorry for the confusion. Is there anyway of determining where the theme is broken? Thanks for your help.
Is there anyway of determining where the theme is broken?
NO, I can’t tell. Sorry.
– Find out where its broken and fix it. If you can’t do the work yourself, consider looking for a professional to fix it correctly on http://jobs.wordpress.net/
– Make a backup copy of the theme, and replace it with a fresh copy of it.
-Or try an another theme.
I want to continue using the theme, but I’d like to fix it. Let me know if I need to supply you with any code to help in the process.
Where did you get the Flying Colors Theme? A Google search for me only turns up links to sketchy sites.
Hi Chip. I found the Flying Colors Theme on http://www.wordpressthemesbook.com/flying-colors/#comment-54629
I’ve been trying to find a “whimsical” WP theme that is adsense/ad ready. But this one is becoming a bit of a pain. 🙁
Yep, that’s one such sketchy site.
PROTIP: any site that violates the WordPress trademark domain-name policy, by using “wordpress” in its domain name, is sketchy.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide support specific to the Flying Colors Theme. The official support forums can only provide specific support for Themes hosted in the official Theme directory.
