I recently upgraded from b2 and I'm having what I would call a fairly serious problem. I'm using the web interface to update my blog but it takes a while before the posted entry appears on the blog page. Once I click the submit button, it takes at least 1 minute for the entry to submit itself. Afterwards, it takes at least 10 minutes before the entry will appear on the actual blog. It does not show up underneath the text entry area on the post page either. I logged into the mySQL database and the entry is there already, but just doesn't show up on the actual page.
I've used WordPress to create two other blogs on my website without any of these issues. So I'm sure it's related to me upgrading from b2. I copied the b2 tables from my previous database and then renamed them so that they had a 'wordpress' prefix and then made those changed in the b2-config.php file before I uploaded. Don't know if something in that process could have caused this to go wrong.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this or know of anyone who has. Help is MUCH appreciated.

So I guess I managed to stump everyone. Not surprising. I seem to have a way with breaking perfectly good software ;)

    Hi Justin,
The delay after posting is probably caused by the length of time it takes to ping weblogs.com and Blo.gs and maybe you still have ping to cafelog.com still turned on.
There are plans afoot to do this asynchronously which should remove the delay.
You second issue sounds like a holdover from an old B2 issue see http://tidakada.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=1563 for details.
Is you blog.header.php up to date or could it be the old b2 one?

It seems that pinging any of the preset ping-sites takes a long time, about 1 min per host. I deactivated them all and now posting takes about 2 sec.
A bit sad, but the only way to keep posting-time acceptable.
