Posts Missing Schedule and Unable to Sticky/Unsticky Posts

    Up until yesterday evening my site was working fine with no known problems.

    Last night, as usual, I had a post scheduled to go live. This post missed it’s schedule and I manually Published. However, upon publishing it I could not then make it a sticky post. Nor could I unsticky any other post. You can select them to be sticky or not, click the update button (or publish as the case may be) but all that happens is the timer spins and then the post comes back in it’s original state.

    This morning another scheduled post failed to publish and the sticky/unsticky problem remains.

    Again, everything was working just fine yesterday morning. There were no updates to anything (wordpress/themes/plugins/etc.) It is, as far as I am aware, exactly the same setup now as it was then.

    We’re using WordPress 4.4.1 and the Twenty Fourteen theme.

    Hi, fiddleback, & welcome to the WordPress support forum. I apologize for the delayed response. Sometimes, as volunteers, life gets in the way of being able to respond to requests for help as quickly as we’d like.

    Also, I’d like to thank you so much for including your site url. It makes things *so* much easier!

    Sometimes, either in your web folder or in your control panel, there are error logs that can provide insight as to what might be occurring. Look for errors around the time you started having trouble. In addition, if error logs aren’t helpful, then you can try editing your wp-config.php file & changing the following line:
    define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);
    to
    define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true);

    Doing so may allow site errors to be displayed that could help diagnose the problem. Don’t leave that on any longer than necessary, though, as it’s insecure.

    Please tell us if those logs provided any insight. Or, if you’re seeing errors around the time you started having trouble but don’t know how to interpret them, please paste them into your next reply using like:

log entry 2
log entry 3
