• I have a blog set up (teachthe4ps.com) and I’m having an issue with how images are displayed. When I create a post and insert an image the image shows up twice, side-by-side, one a little larger than the other (can be seen here in the Brick and Mortar Retailers post – http://teachthe4ps.com/page/2/). This is not a featured image issue, I haven’t used the featured image function, I’ve only inserted the image in the editor itself.

On the site homepage I see the duplicate images but if I click on a post (ex. http://teachthe4ps.com/retailing/brick-and-mortar-retailers-turn-to-scrambled-merchandising/) then it correctly displays just a single image. I can’t seem to get it to display the image once on the main page and once on the blog post. I can get it to show the image once on the main page but then it doesn’t appear at all in the blog post. Even more frustrating is that when I view the HTML source on the post it only shows one image even though two show up.

I’ve done a lot of searching and every post I find related to this issue is a user issue where someone adds the image as a “featured image” and then adds it again to the body of the post. That’s not the problem I’m dealing with.

    Any suggestions?

  • Some themes have an option to use the first image in a post as a featured image. Maybe yours does? Check the help for your theme to see where you can find the setting.
It may be in the theme’s global settings or possibly in the individual posts.
