# Posts don't show properly

 * Hi all,
 * My website (using an Omega child theme) is having some trouble with displaying
   posts. I have a page ‘Home’, which I would like to be a dynamic frontpage, showing
   the latest posts. So I configured in the settings that the frontpage should show
   posts. When I click ‘Home’ in the menu on my site, it leads me to an empty page
   with the title ‘Home’. When I click on the logo of my site, it leads me to the
   actual frontpage with the posts, but it seems like there is no connection to 
   the page ‘Home’. However, here is the thing: in the ‘Pages’ area in the WP admin
   panel, I’m told that ‘Home’ is the frontpage and post page. So… I don’t understand
   where it goes wrong.
 * Also, I changed the post settings to show an except. This doesn’t work – the 
   full post is still shown everywhere.
 * Any ideas? Thank you so much. It’s really been a struggle.

 * if you want to display posts on front page, you don’t need to setup a static 
   front page. Simply choose “[Your latest posts](https://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page)”
   for “Front page displays”

 * Hm, I see. But what menu item should I use to refer to the front page?
 * Edit: I think I found out! Wow, this is much simpler than I thought… Essentially,
   the menu editor showed 2x ‘Home’: one of them is the static page I created, another
   is a custom link pointing to [http://www.degroenehuismus.nl/](http://www.degroenehuismus.nl/).
   All that time, I needed the latter one!
