 * I would like to know if there is a way to have your text run beside image in 
   a post. I want to set up the image to the left and have the text run to the right
   of it.

 * The easiest way to accomplish this would be to use a plugin that lets you split
   your content into columns with the help of shortcodes, like for instance this
   one: [https://wordpress.org/plugins/columns/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/columns/).
   
   Basically, in your case, you would simply wrap the image and the text into shortcodes
   as per plugin description. There are actually quite a few “Columns” specific
