# Postponing posts

 * I hope someone has time to look into my problem. Here it is.
 * Im making a blog that will have hourly posts that will be posted every hour on
   the hour. now obviously I cannot be there to post every hour so is there a way
   to postpone all posts and save them for one to be posted every hour?
 * So for example I would on day one make 24 posts and they would show up on every
   hour of day one. then on day two I could post 48 posts and it would spread throughout
   the next 2 days.
 * Thanks for any help you can give me (links ect.)

 * Write your post.
    On the right (in WP2.x) is ‘Edit Timestamp’ Click to open, 
   check the box and then enter the date/time you want it to appear.

 * Thanks for the swift reply. but i was hoping that it would be easier then that.
   Say automatically it would save all posts and only release on to be posted every
   hour.

 * How can it know when to post unless you tell it?
    It’s not so much work is it?

 * well when you have to do it 24 times a day or more (say i wanted to post updates
   for the whole week) it’s alot of finding the right time and keeping track of 
   them

 * i think you’re looking for something that will write the post for you, save it,
   and puke it out on a schedule for you… when all you have to do is keep a little
   notebook beside you…
 * write the post in the admin, and set the timestamp on the right hand side.
 * on the notebook page, write the post title and the time you set it for. then 
   do the same for the next 24 or 48 posts you write…
 * i’m not sure how you can see using a little dropdown box before hitting “publish”
   is difficult.

 * well its not thats its difficult but what i want is to avoid having to to check
   off every single hour of every single day.
 * I know it’s nit-picking but i belive that having to timestamp every single post
   would double the time it would take. It is a luxury i’m looking for. I guess 
   with free scripts like this beggers cant be choosers. thanks for the replys everyone

 * it can’t double the time.
    it’s a dropdown. you click and select right before
   you hit “publish” TRUST US – it will always take you longer to write the post
   than it will to set the timestamp, unless you’re writing one word posts.

 * they are very short posts yes. but say I want to stock my site with posts for
   the whole week. Im going to have to make sure that every post has the correct
   hour. that can be time consuming. If the script automatically held the posts 
   until the next hour (and so on) i could just write a new post and click publish
   and be on to the next one

 * There is a way to do it, but kind a hard:
    I used to schedule posts timestamp,
   to do that I create a xml with the posts, and I modify post date with PHP, then
   i use the import function in wordpress and voila! posts scheduled.
 * I think the way you need it can be don, and if you have the post in xml, you 
   can allways do a cronjob of import function.
