post.php 406 error Not Acceptable?

  • Hi there, I’ve run into a problem when I try to Publish a new newspost, it then gives me the following error in my browser:

    “406 error Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /wp-admin/post.php could not be found on this server.”

I’m running WordPress 2.0 and WP has never given me any problems the past 9 months. I was actually working on 3 newsposts at the same time and only the 3rd one and every following newspost WP window I would open in my browser gave the same error message and wouldn’t update the blog.

Halfway through my trying get get another newspost published I did a subject:test content:test newspost and that did came through, but any tries to edit it or publish another newspostt all failed, and gave me the above error.

I appreciate any help I can get, because none of my blogs on the same server have any problems. Thank you!

  • I forgot to mention that the post.php that seems to be giving the problem is unchanged from how it was installed/upgraded in the past. It’s the same size as my other WordPress installations: 13,790 K.
