Support » Theme: Colinear » Post/page Color defaulting to White- Can't see the text

  • Hello-

    When I create a post the color defaults to white. I have to manually set the post color to black in order to see the text. The same thing is happening with my search results and existing pages (pages that existed before I changed to the Colinear theme). It seems unlikely that the default color would be white – is there a theme setting that I accidentally changed? I have not done any customization to the theme.

    Where can I set the default text color to black so that I don;’t have to do it for every page and post?

    Thank you very much for your assistance. The Colinear theme is excellent.
    Thank you

  • Hi there!

    You could use CSS like the following to set your paragraph text color:

    p {
    	color: #000;
    }

    When adding CSS, don’t edit the theme files directly, otherwise your changes will be overwritten every time the theme is updated to the latest version.

    An easy way to add custom CSS is to install the Jetpack plugin and activate the Custom CSS module. You’ll then add your custom CSS in the new stylesheet editor that’ll appear in your dashboard, under Appearance > Edit CSS.

    (As alternatives, you could either install a standalone custom CSS plugin, or create a child theme.)

    Hi Sarah-

    Thank you very much for your response and suggestions. I would like to use Jetpack in fact I have it installed but I don’t know how to configure it for an internal self-hosted website. I manage a corporate intranet.

    I installed a custom CSS plug in and set the paragraph text color as you suggested. But existing pages and posts still have white as the default color. Lower Right Corner: Post Color Select Color field is white.

    Thank you –
    Meg

    Ah, that could be an issue! (The other CSS plugin you’ve installed may be a better solution, since Jetpack requires a WordPress.com login.)

    Do you have code individually inserted into those existing posts/pages that’s making the text white? If so, try editing a post to remove it and see if that lets the post use the CSS to determine its color instead.

    Let me know how it goes!
