- What is the exact shortcode you’re using?
- Where are you placing the shortcode?
- What do you expect to see?
- What are you seeing?
Also, it would be helpful to know:
- What theme you’re using
- What plugins you’ve installed and activated

I placed the short code in the Text part of the page content
I can post directly to the pages without posting to the front page but it posts to all of the pages. I expect to be able to post to each page independently so that each page has different content.
I am using Genesis Framework with News Pro Theme.

I put the code in each of 5 pages. It does the same with other short codes. I haven’t tried disabling other plugins or changing themes.

I’m missing something.
If you’re putting the exact same code in all five pages and seeing the same results, that would be normal behavior. Are you posting different shortcodes, or is it all the same?
Its all the same. Even if I take the short code out and only put it in one of the 5 categories it still posts to all 5. I thought I could designate one category for the post and it would post to the page tied to that category. Instead it posts to all of the pages not tied to that category.
I just disabled all of the plugins and it did not solve the problem.
I changed themes and the same thing happens.
I just removed the shortcode from all of the pages but one and it is still posting to all of the pages.

I think maybe we’re having a fundamental communication issue here.
Let’s make it simple:
- Give me the name of one page you’re using a Posts in Page shortcode on.
- Show me the exact shortcode you’re using – exact
- Tell me what post category/categories you wish to show in that page
- Confirm the slug of the category matches what you’re putting in the shortcode
I’m getting confused when you say things like:

Based on your answers, it seems like you’re using the wrong shortcode. It’s still not clear to me what you want to show on this page.
Since you’re using a shortcode that says:
[ic_add_posts exclude_category='category-slug']
You’ll get all categories to show, since ‘category-slug’ doesn’t match a true category on your site, I’m guessing. If it did, you’d still get all posts that are NOT in that category.
If what you’re trying to do is include only posts from the ‘cardinal’ category, your shortcode should look like this:
[ic_add_posts category='cardinal']
I tried your solution and the post that was intended to go only on the Cardinals page also ended up on the Cubs, Brewers, Pirates and Reds. This is so frustrating. All I want to do is write a post that does not post on the main page bu posts only on the Cardinals page. Is this even possible?
