 * Strange occurrences…
 * Everything is going fine on my wordpress site. Able to post and edit.
 * Then a few months ago I tried editing some old posts. Anything before January
   29th, 2010 I can’t edit. Weird but okay. Nothing important there.
 * Then with 3.0.4 I am able to edit them again. Figure it must’ve just been a small
   glitch in the core. I forget about it.
 * Today I go and try to edit an old post, now I am getting 404 errors every time
   I hit “update post”. For a few hours after I can’t even add new posts as it just
   404s.
 * No new plug-ins, no new theme. Same theme I’ve been using for a long time now,
   same plug-ins, and nothing new updated.
 * Very strange and was hoping for some input. Not a newbie to any of this; have
   run checks on the DB and nothing showed as wrong. Deleted some unused plug-ins
   after it started but nothing big has changed on the site. .htaccess is correct
   and right. Already deactivated and reactivated plug-ins one by one. Emptied browser
   cache, etc. Checked the server, nothing going weird with the DB server.
 * So…ideas? This is just too weird and it is only affecting one site.

 * Just a shot in the dark here but did anything change within your permalink structure
   a ways back that would cause a 404? How about any plugins that might have changed
   the Post Order for some feature (for some reason I have found that these plugins
   can sometimes change *other* parts of your posts and if you used one but stopped
   that might have messed them up.
 * Don’t spend too much time on these, just general areas I’ve found problems like
   this.

 * I’ve always set the permalink structure before making any posts. This site is
   my main site and I use the settings for every site I make after it. (you know,
   the template for future work. 😉 )
 * I do use a Page Order plugin but nothing for posts. Never had a problem with 
   the page order plugin and have never had a need to deactivate or remove it.
 * I just found that this issue is hitting another site. It is a media site (images
   only) and I tried making a new post. When I hit “insert into post” it 404s.
 * Both sites are on different servers.
 * Starting to think there is something going on with the servers…investigating 
   but nothing is popping up.
 * Thanks for the input, much appreciated. Just very weird that it started within
   the past day or so.
