Support » Fixing WordPress » Posting Error

  • I have posted successfully to two different blogs for awhile now. Recently, however, I encountered a strange error. I typed the post into Word first and then pasted it into a blog post and it gave the following error message on the page when I submitted it:

    Something is wrong here !

And you don’t belong here. !

The page or post that you are trying to locate, is not available at this server.
Please try a different search or browse through the Archives.

I tried to post it to another WordPress blog and got the same result. When I only pasted part of the post, however, it worked. Ultimately, when I leave out part of the post, it works but it does not seem to be directly related to any kind of word count. Does anyone know what might be wrong? I know that I need to upgrade but this has never caused a problem doing the same thing in the past. Thanks!

  • Don’t ever paste directly from Word into a blog post editor. Word inserts all sorts of formatting codes that often make a mess of things.

In WordPress, open up the 2nd row of toolbar buttons by clicking the last one on the right on the first row.

On the 2nd row of buttons, one has a W on it. That is the paste from Word button. Click it, and paste your text from Word into the box that will pop open. This box removes all of the problematic Word formatting codes and makes it safe to Paste from Word. You must, of course, delete the Word text you have already entered in the post before saving the post with the newly pasted text.

I had the same error tonight and the offending word was “from”

I also noticed that some random categories were being ticked at the same time.

I suspect that insertion of some other character (inverted comas?) opens a leaky (f that is the right word) SQL query and the word FROM finally throws it

    check it out
