I have a local installation of WordPress that I use as a journal on my PC. I was wondering if it’s possible to post entries say from my Android phone for example to a secure place online, and then retrieve said posted entries to my wordpress journal when I get back home and go online. If relevant, I use WAMP as my local server.

I’m sorry about the weird title but I don’t really know how to describe this well.

  • Wouldn’t it be easier to use some private web hosting with an apache server running WordPress that you could update from home and on the go?

What do you mean by secure place online?

Wouldn’t it be easier to just use WordPress.com and set your blog to private? Free hosting and live updates via Android or Computer.

Indeed it would but I’m challenging myself so to speak to accomplish this without hosting it online. For now, I’m using WordPress’ ‘Post via Email’ function which works most of the time but it’s a whole can of worms on its own.

What I was really aiming for doesn’t seem to exist so I’ll either have to host it online and set it private or stick to using the ‘Post via Email’ function.

For the sake of clarity, I was looking for a service where I can post my entries privately and then have my local wordpress installation retrieve my posts from that service.

    Thanks everyone!
