 * I just changed themes and now it seems to be working. This was happening on the
   oasis theme.

 * Lee, you have to be more specific, like give us a web page address or spell out
   the error. We’re not sure if you are talking about a posting on this forum, a
   comment section on your site closed, problems with comments, or problems with
   posts.

 * i have the same problem as the the original poster.
 * Trackbacks to my wordpress doesn’t seem to work. I used [http://redalt.com/External/trackback.php](http://redalt.com/External/trackback.php)
   to test my site and a error appeared: “Sorry, posting has been closed for the
   time being.”
 * I use a heavy modified Kubrick theme.

 * Are you using any plugins to auto-close comments after a certain period? Are 
   you using any anti-spam plugins? If so, try disabling them, to confirm that they
   are not the problem.

 * Thank you. This one solved the problem … I used the Gatekeeper plugin, which 
   expects the answer of a simple question at each comment post. Obviously this 
   is also needed for the trackbacks … 🙁
 * Any hints on a gatekeeper (to avoid comment spam) that does not break the trackback
   functionality?

 * The best anti-spam solution I’ve found is [Bad Behavior](http://www.ioerror.us/software/bad-behavior/).
   It detects specific bot behaviour and prevents them from even seeing your comment
   form. It has substantially reduced the amount of comment spam on every site which
   has installed it.
