Support » Fixing WordPress » Posting changed my blog layout

  • Resolved Zarzuela

I hope someone can help with this problem. I recently posted an entry to my blog as I normally would and suddenly the layout changed forcing the sidebar down below the posts and changing the background color. I had not done anything to the template editor before making this posting. The problem shows up in both Firefox and IE. I tried replacing the stylesheet but that did not solve the problem. I’m using the Kubric theme that comes with WordPress although I did change the banner. Previous postings have not caused this problem. The change has also caused extra spacing in the sidebar and extra arrows. The blog can be found at and the post that seems to have caused the error was made on July 10th. I’ve also noticed that clicking an individual post title will resolve the background issues but the footer is suddenly oversized. I have another wordpress blog on the same domain using a different theme and have not had a similar problem. I hope I’ve explained this well and someone can give me some answers. Thank you in advance!

  • Fix that post from July 10. It is full of <div /> tags and is likely hosing up any theme’s code to boot.

Probably the easiest thing to do would be to edit the post, copy and paste it to notepad then copy/paste it back into the WordPress editor. That would remove all the “extra” or unmatched html tags.

Are you composing your posts in some other editor and then pasting them into WP?

Thank you!! I’ve been composing all my posts in WP but I have noticed that for some reason it keeps adding extra tags such as that. I edited that post and everything is fixed! Thanks again!
