Postcodes wildcards in Shipping -> Local Delivery

Hi
I’m trying to set up free delivery for some postcodes in my area.
This is my pattern: 42-6__,44-1__,44-2__,41-___,40____,43-1__,43-2__
but this is not working at all.
Postcodes in my country are in format like this: 2 digits dash 3 digits, eg. 43-111
If I change underscores ‘_’ to asterisk ‘*’ for example like this: 44-1* (for postcodes eg. 44-188 or 44-111) it is still not working, however something like this: 44* is working just fine, and I can choose ‘local pickup’ as a delivery method.
It looks like there is some problem with underscores and/or dashes or maybe I’m making some silly mistake?
Please help.
