Post/article background color

I know this question has been asked, but there was no response. I’m wondering how to change the post background image to just a flat color. I’ve changed the background image fine, but it’s as dark as the post background and was hoping to lighten it up a bit.

Also having trouble finding the “post comments” code to change that color as well. Any help is appreciated.
