    Hi There!

I am working on a site in development mode utilizing Desktop Server. Whenever I have Draw Attention activated, I get a few weird debug notices. When I click on the ‘Draw Attention’ menu item in the dashboard, a warning flashes about a script conflict with one of my plugins. It disappears too quickly for me to click on the link, or to get a screenshot.

To troubleshoot this, I deactivated all of my plugins, and switched to the 2015 default theme, and the error went away. When I activated only Draw Attention again, the error came back even though I did not have any other plugins activated.

The bigger problem is that when I click on ‘posts’ I get an error regarding post_type in the class-drawattention-admin.php file. Nothing noticeable breaks if I edit only one post or do a quick-edit, but, if I edit multiple posts at once, I get the white screen of death and two other debug messages. I can still access the dashboard and the site (hitting the back button), and the changes are saved, so it isn’t a fatal problem. However, I can’t turn this over to my client this way. I also checked, and this only happens when I have Draw Attention activated.

I uploaded screen shots of the debug errors I receive so you can take a look at them. You can find them here:

Please let me know if you need any more information. I am very excited about this plugin and hope you can direct me on how to resolve this issue.

    Thanks!

    Jess

    Hi there,

The script warning that hides is meant to hide and never be seen, but in some installs it shows up for a second and has been confusing for several users. So you can ignore that (we’ll be issuing an update soon that hides it from view entirely)

The issue you’re seeing when viewing normal WP posts when Draw Attention is active is something we weren’t aware of. Your site seems to have Strict PHP Notices active which shows more errors in general, but it’s good practice for us to fix those 🙂

We’ll issue that fix in the next update, but in the meantime, you can download a temporary fix here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39435/tmp-share/draw-attention-post-type-fix.zip – You can delete the existing plugin and install the new version from that link (don’t worry, all your existing images and clickable areas will be saved)

    Hope that helps!

    HI Nathan!

Thank you so much for the quick reply, it is greatly appreciated!

So I installed the fix, and I’m still having the same issues. I even deleted it, cleared my cache, and reinstalled the fix, but it still is giving me the white screen of death and error codes.

I’m going to be putting the site on a live server later today so my client can check out the front end. I’ll check back and see if it is still doing the same thing when it is live and not running locally.

    Thanks!

If you’re seeing the same errors on the live site once you deploy, can you send me an admin login for the site so I can troubleshoot it a little better? You can send login info to support@tylerdigital.com

    Thanks!
