I may be missing something, but I just created a split test of an older post to try to A/B test different post layouts.

The variation of the original post was published at the top of my site – front page, RSS feed, etc. – as a new post.

Is there any way to do a split test of a post without it appearing as a new post on my site? Or to hide that new variation so it doesn’t appear on my front page or RSS feed?

Otherwise, I really like the plugin, but this is a non-starter for me unfortunately.

    Hi Jack,

With posts, what I would suggest is manually changing the date on the variation after the post test has started. These variations will be marked as canonical with the original post.

The other thing you could try would be to use a Shortcode based test, these are available in the Premium add-on.

    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,
    Josh

Thanks. I was able to get around this by backdating my variation so it didn’t appear in my feed and “latest articles” on my home page, and then modifying the other components on my home page to filter out that post by postid.
