[Resolved] Post-upgrade blog gone, admin username invalid

  • Hi,
The other day I upgraded to WordPress 2.3. Beforehand I backed up my database and files. Now I encounter two problems that I think are related

First, when I go to my blog homepage: http://jackmetier.com/index.php I get the default “My Weblog: Just another WordPress weblog” page. Thanks to google cache I can show it used to look like this
Second, when I to http://jackmetier.com/wp-login.php I am told the my username, “jackmeti” is invalid.

I have read a number of posts about similar problems, but none that involve both of these. Regarding the invalid username problem, I have followed the advice of going to phpMyAdmin and looking up my wp_user login. According to my database table I am using the correct user_login (jackmeti) and the correct password. Since the wp-login.php says my username is invalid, I think it is the result of my blog being “missing.” Since I have all the files online and the database is intact, the blog isn’t actually missing, but I think there must be a disconnect between the two.

Thank you so much for any help you have to give. I usually try to solve my problems by looking at previous posts, but I just can’t figure it out this time.
    -Jack
