I apologize in advance, I'm new to both wordpress and coding in general. So with that in mind maybe use your simplification filter with me :)

I set up a multisite so that I can have two blogs on my website, one for blog posts and one for categorizing articles. I have my new site set up as a subdomain

Is there another step I have to take to activate a second blog on that subpage?
It doesn't look like there is an option under posts to direct the posts I make to one page versus the other.

Been trying to figure this out for a couple days and finally caved in seeking help! Thanks!

  2. Subdomains are sub.website.com, just FYI.

To make a second site, go to domain.com/wp-admin/network and ther's a link to 'Create a new site'

I appreciate the reply. I made it that far already. I have a second site that is:

I was wondering how to start posting articles to that page specifically. When I'm logged into the dashboard of my second site and make a post it posts it on my other blog on the domain

  4. Are you posting from website.com/articles/wp-admin ?

Yes, when I write my posts it is from website.com/articles/wp-admin but when i hit publish the url switches back to website.com/wp-admin and posts under that page instead

  6. What's in your .htaccess?

And what plugins are you running?

    #Made Multi-Site with Multi-Site Enabler 1.5#
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    # uploaded files
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$2 [L]
    # add a trailing slash to /wp-admin
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?wp-admin$ $1wp-admin/ [R=301,L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
    RewriteRule ^ - [L]
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(wp-(content|admin|includes).*) $2 [L]
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(.*\.php)$ $2 [L]
    RewriteRule . index.php [L]

    The Plugins I'm using are

    - enable multisite
    - gecka submenu
    - shadowbox js
    - vimeo simple gallery
    - widget logic

  8. Get rid of enable multisite. You don't need it
