# Post timestamp..

 * I have a fairly simple question. How can I make WordPress show the time I started
to post rather than when I finish? What I do is edit timestamp to show the start
time and without fail it will show the time I finish. It’s so minor but annoying
to me. I may start posting at 11:50 PM one night and get up to do something and
it’ll say 12:30 AM the next day. I want the post to reflect the time I started
the post. I promise you if you try it you can duplicate it. It would appear to
just not save the “edit timestamp” setting.

 * I just changed the timestamp on a post and the post KEPT that timestamp. Note:
   using version 2.6.3.

 * Did you change it before first publishing? I don’t mean after the fact. I’m trying
to do this with current posts as I post them. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?
I’ve been using WP for a while now and have never read documentation detailing
   the use of this feature.

 * I just duplicated it on my WordPress.com as well. Maybe it’s a feature that’s
not actually there that I think is? Here’s the scenario:
 * I start posting at 12:49 (just now). I select “Edit” next to “Publish immediately”
and it shows the time I started posting. I take however long to post and at 12:
53 I’m ready to publish. I believe that if I publish it should say 12:49, but
it says 12:53. Am I missing something? You can clearly see “Edit” change to “
Cancel” when selected but I’m not canceling it, I’m opting for that start time.

 * I guess no one can confirm or even understand what I’m trying to say?
