    So perhaps when I maximize the window what I am seeing in white is the regular browser background, not that of the lightbox.

    I prefer to use percentages so that the lightbox will resize to fit the viewer’s monitor.

    well – you can either set the width/height of the Colorbox, in your example it’s set to 95%.
    Then, the Colorbox is always 95%, no matter how big the image is. In your case, the white background is displayed since the Colorbox is bigger than the image that is loaded, since you also set the maximum height/width of the image.

    If you set the maximum width/height of the image loaded in the Colorbox only, the image will be resized, and the Colorbox will be exactly as big as the image, if the width/height is not also set to 95%.
