Post shows on Front Page even when not selected.

    I am updating a website for a friend… my first foray into WordPress and all is going well, but there are a couple of things I don’t understand.

    By the way, the site is using the Chameleon Theme.

    1) Posts are easy enough to set, but no matter which Category I set (eg. Events, News), even with Front Page unchecked the post will still show up on the Front Page.

    2) If I do want a post to be on the Front Page, the Featured Image I choose shows on the front page okay (at 960 x 332 pixels), but ALSO as a chopped thumbnail on any other page Category I may have checked (Events, News), thereby screwing up the look of the post.
