Hi! Great plugin, by the way – thank you for all your hard work in putting this together and offering it to the WP community!

I’m closing down my site and am trying to restrict access to Blog posts while I get everything in order. I created the following rule:

Restrictions: Posts (All Posts / Blog Page)
    Options: Redirect
    Members: Synchronised Role (Logged-In)

This works great if unregistered users go to the home page and try to access the blog or posts. They are correctly re-directed.

However, if an unregistered user gets to a post via Google, the restriction is NOT applied and they are able to view the content.

Any idea how I apply the restriction to posts / categories that users can access via a Google search?

    Thank you again!

Apologies for the delayed response here, and thank you for your kind words.

Did you figure out what the problem was?

If not, can you tell me if the links on google (that don’t get restricted) are the same as the links that get restricted?
Can you confirm that it is not a cache issue? (ie. links were added to google before they were restricted)

    Hi there!

No apologies required! I discovered that I had to restrict “tags” and “categories”, otherwise visitors were able to view “posts” using tag and category permalinks, either by creating their own URL or finding a category or tag as a result of a Google search.

All sorted – thanks again for your great plugin! 🙂
