• I selected static page as the alternative in Reading, then selected a front page and below, a post page, but there are no posts coming (its the defualt blog post page). This might not be a problem for the theme, just me not getting it. Thanks for any help.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @knutatle! What page on your site did you set your Posts Page to? Can you link to that page here?

Hi, Mel! That might be it, I did not “set” my Post Page as such to any other page, I just chose it in the dropdown menu (I will be offline for at least 7 hours now, but thanks for getting in touch)

Do you still see that blog set as Post Page when you visit your Reading settings? Let me know when you’re back online later 🙂

    Yes, I do. 🙂

Not sure if I understand you. When visiting Reading the second row, that about the blog posts is set to “Blogg”, which is named by me, but is the “Post Page” (named in black behind the page name “Blogg”, link: https://kirkeogkunst.dk/?page_id=31)

Cool — I am seeing your blog posts on that page 🙂 If you add this page to your menu, people will be able to visit your blog directly.

Do you mean as a link on the front page? I was thinking the posts should come below the upper part of the static page.

Ahhh okay. By default, you can either have your homepage show a static page, or you can show your blog content. To show both a static page and your blog posts, you’ll need to either use a theme that supports that specific functionality, or find a plugin that does that. You could also try adding the “Recent Posts” block to your static homepage if you’re on WordPress 5.0 or higher.

I have decided to staying within the limits of this theme (that’s what I like about the minimalism). But would it be better to grey out the post page alternative in Reading if it is of no use?

I did try the “Recent Post” block and it works, but would be nice if it in the future could show snippets of content, too and not only the titles. I might look for a plugin, though again, staying within the limits of the theme, I would like it to be plugin lean.

Anyway, your help and time has been much appreciated, Mel! Thanks a lot!

If you’re planning to blog, you’ll still want to set a page for posts to appear on. If you want your homepage to be the blog, you’ll want to set it back to showing your latest posts:

    Hoping for this too!

    Glad I could help 🙂
