  • WordPress 2+ does things differently. If you set up a user to be an author then they will be able to write posts but will need an editor to publish them (i.e. approve them). Have a look at this;

    any body please help how to create user levels for the users to post and that posts should be approved by me and then only it should be published.

    Read the codex link that I gave you, and you will see that you need to set your users to authors, then their writing will only appear when you (or someone who is at least an editor) approves it.

    It seems to me that when you say “author” you were thinking about “contributor” role.

    The problem is that this feature doesn’t provide any way to alert editors so they can approve posts.

    And the other problem is that contributors are not able to upload files (so no photos in their posts or attached documents to link).

    Is there any way to do simply a post moderation using worpress?

    I know this post is months late, but I found that the Draft Control plugin is dandy for this —

    along with Role Manager —

    Draft Control makes a new submenu with the drafts. I have literally thousands of users on a blog I’m going to use this on, so I modified it to remove the dropdown that lets you alter the post author.
