post link directing to media file rather than whole post

I have posted about this problem before, however I marked it as resolved as I was able to fix the particular post by deleting and republishing.
However the problem has reappeared on other posts.

When trying to access the posts via the above links, we are instead directed to one of the images within the post. This iys not only a problem because my whole post doesn’t show, but my blog is a recipe blog and the recipes aren’t viewable. I have attempted to view them in google chrome and firefox with no luck, and had others confirm they encounter the same problem.
I deactivated all my plugins and this did not fix the problem so I know a plugin is the not the cause.
The posts look fine from the homepage.

This started happening after I updated to 4.2.2

If you require any screenshots from the back end please let me know, but as far as I can see there is nothing to suggest why this is happening.

I really need a fix for this as it is very negatively impacting my readers on two popular posts. As far as I know these are the only ones currently affected.
