    Hi @biruk360

I hope you are doing well.

I checked this on my end and the preload includes the as style https://monosnap.com/file/o6urINHVzHFjakkAvXEHlvAlgHTcSm

Could you please let us know which theme you are using and if it is a Pro or Free theme?

    Best Regards

We’re using https://www.kadencewp.com/ Pro theme with HummingBird but the preload issue is distorting the post layout. The issue is also limited to single post view and does not affect pages or other custom post types.

    Hi @biruk360

    Thank you for the update.

It seems there is a misunderstanding on that warning, the problem is related to the file being preloaded but not being loaded quickly on your DOM.

preloaded using link preload but not used within a few seconds from the window’s load event

    This is the important part.

You will see that AS style is being added:

Can you confirm if you moved that specific file to Footer using the Manual mode?

Because I tested the site using /?avoid-minify=true which disable the Assets Optimization for troubleshooting and I still see the same layout.

Could you share a screenshot where you see the change in your layout?

    Best Regards

    Thank you @wpmudevsupport12
No, I didnt move the specific files to the footer manually. HummingBird is handling all optimizations.

change in layout? I’m not sure I understand correctly but the issue only affects single post views and not pages or other custom post types. You can see the distorted post here https://imghostr.com/TsGAgadb

    Hi @biruk360,

I checked your website, and I could notice the issue, but I’m afraid it still doesn’t seem related to Hummingbird when checked.

If you are using the default settings then it shouldn’t be preloading the assets. Also, it doesn’t look like Hummingbird is currently enabled on your website when checked, and I could notice the same warning in the browser console.

To double-check, I added the /?avoid-minify=true URL at the end of the website URL, which would disable Asset Optimizations, and I could notice the same issue.

If the issue was due to optimization, then the console shouldn’t have shown the same message once I have added /?avoid-minify=true:

Could you please temporarily disable Hummingbird and check whether you notice the same issue?

If the issue is still the same even after disabling Hummingbird, then I’m afraid it has to do with some other setting in your theme or another plugin causing this behaviour.

Please do let us know how that goes.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin

    Hello everyone,

My WordPress layout is disorganised or distorted. Can you help? Not sure why, initially we had a plugins or wordpress update failing but that was fixed. And now it “There has been a critical error on this website.”

    Thanks in advance

    Hi @ppokah0111

Sorry to hear you are having this issue.

The critical error means something is triggering a fatal error on your site.

Can you please enable the debug mode https://wpmudev.com/blog/debugging-wordpress-how-to-use-wp_debug/ find the debug.log file, download it and upload it to Google drive?

However, instead of sharing it as a reply, please create a new ticket https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/hummingbird-performance/#new-topic-0 because per forum rules we don’t spam the thread starter.

    Best Regards
