Post in wrong place in homepage

I have an older post showing at the top of my homepage, pushing my sidebar down. I thought it was sticky, but it isn’t. Nothing I have tried fixes it. I am using clean retina, but am looking for a better layout. However, I can’t spend $ on a theme yet. Any recommendations?
