Post Images

Hi,

I am using the thesis theme on wordpress, and i would like to insert a default post image that can be used on facebook, LinkedIn, etc.
How do i do this? Please also note that i do not know anything about coding etc. I have tried inserting a post image on each page, but it only works on my homepage. None of the other pages are displaying a thumbnail…
