    HI,

OK, so I’m goin’ a bit nuts with my site re-build…but this has got me stumped. I’ve read everything I can find in the Image guides and I still can’t figure this out.

I inserted an image into my latest ‘Rebuilding’ post and if you checkout the site you’ll see the bizarre result. I will want to add other images in Pages & Post so I really need to resolve this issue.

Thanx in advance for your time…. Tom

  • Did you insert the image and also select one to be the featured image?

It does look like there are two size of images on the home page.

    Hi,

I don’t recall seeing the featured option in the edit panels I’ve been using today. I did inspect the ‘source code’ in html of the small image. Not knowing what I’m doing exactly, I selected it, deleted it holding my breath, then updated from the Dashboard, cleared the Cache, and went to visit the site and there ‘they’ were….still.

If I select the small thumbnail it takes me to the Post > Page and on there, the only image is the large one which is what I’m attempting to achieve on the Post itself.

I produce videos mostly but occasionally insert images and have never experienced this result. A bit at a loss…

    Thanx for your interest,
    Tom

Yes, the post is just showing up one image – http://tomjdolan.com/site-re-construction-continues/#comments
so that’s why I thought perhaps there was a featured image being used on the home page.

I would recommend that you deactivate all your plugins and see what happens, but I’m not sure that’s the issue here.

I think it might be a theme issue. I see that your using Legacy which is a child of Genesis. Have you thought of asking the folks at http://www.studiopress.com/
Perhaps the theme developer would know where to look for?

Failing that, I would just take the image out. 🙁

    Hi Christine,

Your comments alerted me to the ‘featured image’ that I know little about. But with that information, the Genesis upgrade which I just performed this morning, got me to look again at the initial settings I chose when I installed Genesis about 6 weeks ago.

    And there it was.

I had, for no good reason, checked a ‘featured image’ box. I saw that, unchecked it, and after a Settings save, a quik look at the site showed the smaller image was removed.

Thanx to you for that outcome. Frankly I still don’t understand ‘featured image’ and I’ll add that to my WP to-learn list.
    Thank you,
    Tom

HI Tom, Glad it worked. Featured images are great, when you want to display a thumbnail on an excerpt and then a bigger image on the full post.

Happy to hear that the issue was resolved though. I’ll mark this post as resolved, but if there are more issues, feel free to start a new thread.
